Colorado has an incredible brewing community that keeps it creative, inventive, and empowering. And it’s all less than 15 minutes away from the ColoRADo Adventure Hostel. Time to get a sampling.
1. Atrevida Beer Company
0.2 miles
Voted the best small business run by a minority in 2019, this brewery is within sight of the hostel. They keep their infusions interesting by integrating their Mexican culture into their brews. Another cool thing that sets Atrevida apart is it is the first Latin-owned brewery in Colorado run by a female Head Brewer.
2. Trinity Brewing
4.6 miles
Head down Garden of the Gods Road and come upon a charming little building adorned with three spirals on the front, and a small, cheerful outdoor patio. Trinity Brewing is a small and quirky location with barrels as tables and drawings of characters such as the Mad Hatter and the Dr. Suess Truffala trees speckled throughout the space. An archway made of books greets you at the bar as you enter and sample the creative brews. This place runs off charming details and creativity, both in the glass and in its thoughtful details.
3. Storybook Brewing
2.1 miles
This local, family business rewards athletics in a town of Olympians by offering a 10% discount to people that bike there. Storybook Brewing likes to elaborate on classic, well-known brews and make them their own. The space is covered with colorful murals and boasts a 13-barrel brewhouse that uses fresh ingredients. As they state on their site, “We may be into fantasy, but we use real ingredients.”
4. Goat Patch Brewing Company
2.4 miles
A warehouse-style, open space that allows for large groups or solo people watching. Food trucks are located just outside if you get peckish and would like a snack with your well-balanced brew. Voted Best of Colorado Springs-Philanthropic Business and they offer a $1 off if you bring in your own growler container.
5. Fossil Craft Beer Company
5.3 miles
This chic, minimalist space releases their up and coming brews and food truck partnerships in a way that keeps you ready and waiting for what they are going to line up for you next. Each night is different, making it unexpected and never predictable.
All of these breweries are reacting very consciously to the current situation and have added safety precautions that you can find on their websites. Make sure you double-check their hours of operation since they have been apt to change in these unpredictable times.
